John McCloskey is the founder of McCloskey Structural Engineering and has worked in the Engineering Industry since 2000, with extensive experience in New Zealand and overseas.
John is an experienced chartered structural engineer and has been deeply involved in Christchurch's post-earthquake rebuild, gaining invaluable hands-on experience in seismic resilience, practical construction and repair methodologies.
John’s qualifications and experience includes:
BEng (Hons) Engineering, CPEng, MIEI
Highway structure design of bridges, retaining walls, and abutments.
Disaster response work, assisting the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority (CERA).
Detailed design and construction monitoring for residential and commercial buildings.
Assessment and repair of earthquake damaged buildings including providing expert witness services.
Our engineers have a sound knowledge of the current New Zealand regulatory environment, as well as comprehensive understanding of real-world site constraints and practicality with regards to buildability.
We have extensive experience in the field of forensic investigations of earthquake damaged buildings, and are able to provide an independent, detailed assessment of a structure, including full detailed design of the repair solutions.
